Site Visit: The V&A Waterfront's R20 billion expansion plan at Granger Bay
Our team joined a group of UCT students on a visit to the V&A Waterfront’s Granger Bay Pavilion to learn more about the landmark’s neighbourhood evolution, its R20 billion expansion, and its broader commitment to Cape Town. During the visit, we were shown the floor model and development plans, which outline a regenerative urban district designed to open access to the water through new promenades and civic spaces, introduce mixed-income housing, and strengthen the Waterfront’s role as both a destination and a lived-in part of the city.
During the visit, the design team walked us through the project’s design and goals, offering an engaging knowledge-sharing experience for young interns, students, and emerging professionals interested in urban development and city-making.
