Rashiq Fataar Presents the OFC Great Places Framework at SAFMA 2026

At the South African Facilities Management Association (SAFMA) Conference 2026, Rashiq Fataar presented our Great Places Performance Method — an OFC-developed approach for assessing and improving how facilities, precincts and public spaces perform as places.

The method is structured around five connected lenses: Place of Mind, Place of Heart, Design, People and Stewardship, grounded in society and context. Using local and international case studies, Rashiq Fataar showed how the method can help clients read what is working, identify what is missing, and guide practical decisions around access, activity, comfort, everyday use, maintenance, management and long-term care.

For facilities managers, the key message was clear: buildings and assets do not operate in isolation. Their long-term value is shaped by the quality of the places around them, how people use them, and how they are managed over time.
